MORE Remote View Problems

Hi there,

 

I'm running GV1000 at my office and am having problems using the remote view feature at home.

 

At the office, I am able to view the cameras on a non-networked laptop (using the Remote Viewer programme) that connects to the same Netgear router through which I wish to view the pictures at my house. But when I try this at home with exactly the same details in the taskbox(IP etc), a "login failed" message comes up.

 

I have logged on to the router and opened the 3550 port; thus when I open up the Remote Viewer on the laptop at the office, it states "geovision rule match" on the router's log . I am also sure the port is open on the Geovision server PC, as a port check on whatismyip.org shows "port 3550 open."

 

Do I need to open the 3550 port on my home router, perhaps?

 

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

and go to common ports select geovision webcam and select the brand and model of your router.

and go to this area Windows XP SP2 Firewall Configuration

 

and you dont need to open port 3550 on your home router since you only access remote view.
