gunny 0 Posted December 30, 2006 Currently, I'm using HS-DVR046 with 80 GB HDD (Seagate) to record video from 2 camera. (Motion only) Now, my auditor requests that the DVR must be able to keep data for at least 90 days. I wonder if I can replace the current Harddisk with 2 units of Seagate Barracuda 400 GB HDD. Will the DVR support these 400 GB Harddisk? Will this solution allow the video to be kept for 90days? Really need advise from the experts here. Thank you
securitymonster 0 Posted December 30, 2006 How many days are you currently getting on that 80gb with motion? You should be able to throw 2 400gb drives in there but there isn't much reference to help. I wouldn't go any larger than 400gb though. Here is a link to the manual if you don't already have it. Towards the end of it, you will find a storage calculator chart. http://www.hisharp.com//Uploads/USERMEMU/20051028150519.pdf
gunny 0 Posted January 3, 2007 Thank you for advise and document. Can you please also guide me on the table you mention? I don't know how to use that table. The idea of 800 GB HDD is from my vendor that sold me this DVR. They quoted me very expensive. So, I'm thinking about buy and install harddisk by myself.
