kspksp69 0 Posted January 14, 2007 I don't think this is the upload possibility because since the beginning (about 6 months), this is the same speed limit, I have not seen any higher speed then I think this is a software limitation but I don't see were... CollinR 0 Posted January 14, 2007 I have never seen an ADSL connection that actually hit more then 100Kb up so I already think you are doing okay. SDSL and T1+ yes but never a ADSL connection. I admit however I push cable internet so I have alot more knowledge of it. I actually though there was a technical limit to ADSL uploads at about 500Kb, SDSL 3008Kb and VDSL ~50Mb. You might want to verify that the ISP hasn't given you a very common 1.5Mb/128Kb connection. A connection test wil do that for you, quick, easy and free. On the server how did you set up the video transmission? 16 cams at 320 in H.264 may not take more then 100Kb to transmit. Also on the client, you have to manually say 640x480 deinterlace if thats what you want. EDIT: I'm thinking your ISP is full of it, ATT.com says the fastest they can provide is 768Kb. Actually they say 512Kb-768kb, I'm thinking the 512Kb is more likely, the 282 sample 7 day average is 429Kb.
kspksp69 0 Posted January 15, 2007 I am in France and we have ADSL2+ which is in my case 8Mbps download and 0.8 to 1Mbps upload tested on my connexion. I have the configuration of 16 cam at 640x480 and the problem is that if I have just one cam on the screen there is about 7 FPS at 100 kbps but if I use the 16 cam I go down 0.7 FPS per cam because the rate is always the same at 100 kbps total......then I don't really understand why the system don't use 500 kbps to send more frame...
