cachecreekcctv 0 Posted January 19, 2007 Just wondering what type/manufacturer of small video server (1 to 4 channel) that people recommend. Would like to view video remotely , WAN, using IE. Anyone ever use the inexpensive type like the "9100A", as sold on Ebay? Or is something along the lines of the Axis worth the extra expense. Thanks
msecure 0 Posted January 20, 2007 If you need to view remotely using IE the 9100A is a bad choice. It's using mjpeg & it's going to be slow. If you need to view a comparison of the 9100A with a generic mpeg4, sent me a PM & I'll try to hook up a remote site with both the units for you to do a comparison. VST_Man 1 Posted January 20, 2007 9100A is also a support nightmare as it is chinese........................but it works. neat little server....I have a cou[ple I toyed with awhile back and they were fun. I just tested a VWS1001 made in Taiwan that worked pretty well, and they are cheap. I'm looking to get them added to the Video Insight IP camera list if I can. I also have a few Pixord servers running and they are fine. Axis work well also........but Pixord's are cheaper.................smae thing in my book so.................. anywho, ip servers work great until you start figuring in the network damage done..more camera's more traffic. plan a seperate network if possible
