MiamiBeachBum 0 Posted July 20, 2004 I'm looking for suggestions for an underwater color bullet style camera for a reasonable price. Most of the underwater bullets that I've seen have been black and white. Any suggestions? Another question.. The B/W underwater one that I've seen has IR lights.. Do you think these would work underwater? Here is the link to the Black and White one and a Color one I found.. Let me know what you guys think.. Thanks http://www.supercircuits.com/store/prodinfo.asp?number=PC81UW&variation=&aitem=1&mitem=1 [/url]http://www.spyhiddencamera.com/products/28/ax808c.htm
rory 0 Posted July 20, 2004 To answer your question, yes they will work, but not far, maybe 10-15 feet if your lucky. Here is the new Speco (provideo) Nitrogen Injected, 120' depth. Its BW though: http://www.specotech.com/cart/products/productDetails.asp?prodID=252 Here is a color: http://www.specotech.com/cart/products/productDetails.asp?prodID=267 And ofcourse Extreme CCTVs: Thermoplastic PVC Industrial Surveillance System http://www.extremecctv.com/products/index.cfm?img=
steve6690 0 Posted July 20, 2004 Have a look at this site. http://www.rfconcepts.co.uk/cameras2.htm They advertise that they export worldwide so they should have PAL and NTSC cameras (or so you would think). Failing that, they might tell you who actually manufactures the camera so you can source it locally. I have their CC50 4.3mm 480 TVL colour bullet cam which I can recommend. I'm using it as a driveway cam at the moment. Go to : http://81.86.129.112 if you want to view it live. It's camera 1. Leave the user and password fields blank. AVCONSULTING 0 Posted August 4, 2004 Looks nice. I presume you are not taking it diving or subjecting it to unusual pressure.
Tim 0 Posted August 4, 2004 only 380 lines, what is the LUX? If your using it at night a very low lux will make a difference
rory 0 Posted August 4, 2004 (edited) if you are looking for a cheap camera, which that is, go for a good name with good support and proven long lasting, at the least. Obviously something like the ExtremeCCTV cameras are the best, higher end, but you could get away with one of the following: http://www.spytown.com/spcvwacobuda.html same like the one you listed, except price is cheaper, better name brand. http://www.spytown.com/provcvcolwat1.html Like yours on the link you provided, it is still cheap, and gives you a semi good image. 20' max IR in optimal conditions. Here is a better version of all of these bullet cameras, and its made by Extreme CCTV, not too expensive either, and it is HIGH RESOLUTION color. http://www.wizkidoptotech.com/products/index.cfm?img=21&area=1 CCD 1/3†Edited October 6, 2005 by Guest
MiamiBeachBum 0 Posted August 4, 2004 Rory, You said I would be better off with a true day/night camera.. Is the one in the link I posted not a "true day/night"... This is from the description... Displays brilliant Sharp color by day, and when all the lights go out, the built-in sensor auto switches the sensor to activate the black and white camera and deploy the infrared illuminators (all 12) when necessary... BTW this camera is going to be used inside an inground swimming pool.. Just thought it would be cool to be able to see under the water in the pool as part of a geovision system. rory 0 Posted August 4, 2004 Somehow I missed that, but it is yes. Only problem is, there are no specs to see if it has an IR Cut filter, meaning if there is no filter turned on in daylight, the daytime pictures have an off color, same goes with the cameras I listed above. But dont worry, some high end IR cameras dont have that feature also. I always pick the ones that do though. http://www.cs.unc.edu/Research/stc/FAQs/Cameras_Lenses/IR%20Filter.htm Otherwise, some photos for you to ponder on anyway
