Install Multiple Camera With Cat5

Can any one pls let me know is it possible to run 4 cameras (4-pairs) with CAT5 cable? Will it cause any inteference? How about installing the power

cable together with the CAT5 (paralle) cable ? Thanks.

You can do it, use the pairs by color. You'll need to supply remote power or run it along with a power carring cable.

 

 

This is best when going building to building, otherwise if the cameras are less then ~100-200' away you are better off with coax.

Only use Cat5 when you need to and use Active on at least one end of the run. The quality decreases, as it would with Rg59, but at closer distances. Active is Amplified so that fixes that issue. Its not recomended to use power throw the same cable your using for data.But yes you can connect up to 4 cams using boluns with cat 5.

Look in PI MFG website they have some baluns and adaptors for using cat5

I have installed 32 cameras with video baluns, bur i don't recomend you to run ac voltage with the video signal, dc voltage is ok.
