ironstick 0 Posted February 24, 2007 Can someone please tell me what this means with regards to a DVR. I'm getting varied answers from local vendors. As always, I appreciate any help I can get from the professionals on this forum.
kensplace 0 Posted February 24, 2007 Basically refers to how well the dvr can multitask, ie perform different jobs at once. Simplex only allows one at a time, ie you can record, but cant play back until you stop recording. Duplex allows both recording and playing back at the same time. Triplex is three things, often record, playback and something else (be it remote view or enhancement or something else), pentaplex is top end, with record, playback, and numerous remote options usually (depends on the actuall dvr what is implemeneted)
