fishinfool145 0 Posted February 28, 2007 When I use the Geovision software to export an AVI clip to a file, the video quality is very poor. Significant pixilization. The quality doesn't change if I export the video using the .exe option. However, if I play the clip back throught the Geovision viewer it looks fine. Also, if I go to the windows "explorer" and open the original avi file with windows media player, it also looks good, but of course, has no sound. I'm recording everything at 720x480 and like I said, the original avi file looks good. I can't find any settings to adjust the quality of the avi output. Am I missing something? Is there some other software (free) that will allow me to merge the audio and video file? For the record: GV-800 v8.01 3.4ghz pentium D w/Intel board and 945 chipset Thanks
CameraGenius 0 Posted February 28, 2007 go ahead and upgrade to version 8.1, you can download it at dvrkits.com and you have some more options available to you
fishinfool145 0 Posted March 2, 2007 Finished upgrade to 8.1 but no change in the output quality. So I guess everyone is using the AVI output fuction with good results? There is a big difference in video quality between the AVI export function and the raw file picked copied straight off of the hard drive.
