phred 0 Posted March 7, 2007 (edited) OK. so your requirements cover everything from the very demanding casino to the very modest bank vault. You also mention NVR and DVR so I guess you have a mixture of analogue and IP. No company imo has the best recording solution of-the-shelf for all situations. Choosing the right codec for each task is important. Jpeg2000 still offers the sharpest image quality but requires many times the storage capacity of H.264. I doubt if you'll find anything in your price range, especially if you have to meet NIGC MICS or other requirements for frame rates. The absolute minimum you will pay for an Enterprise-level system with those capabilities will be approximately $400(+) per channel, not counting network, viewstation, software and connection costs. This makes the total at least 1/2 million. A good 1200 channel system would set you back well over a million, depending on storage requirements. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
rikky 0 Posted March 22, 2007 If you've got that number of cameras you'll definitely need to have the hardware and software to cope with these. kake 0 Posted March 22, 2007 March Networks has a NVR that will do both Analog and IP plus they've got something called R5 VOS that sounds like it was made for your solution. It again handle Analog and IP but stores everything in a central location. I've never seen the VOS in action though; just read about it on ther web site but I do have lots of their NVRs out in the field and they perform great.
