cheri 0 Posted March 19, 2007 I've got a GV-data capture box connected to a POS (IBM) through the POS's COM port with a DB9 serial cable. The receipt transactions are printed on the POS register printer (which is not connected because it only has a USB port) but are also pushed out the POS's COM port. When we have a laptop connected to the GV-Data Capture Box thru hyper terminal we're able to get the transaction data to the DVR. When the laptop isn't connected-no data. It appears that the laptop might be acting like a "printer simulation unit". GeoVision techs have been working on this all week with me to no avail-I KNOW YOU GUYS ARE SMARTER THAN THEM I've gotten more information from this forum than from GV techs!! COME ON...Somebody has to have some idea how to solve this. Please note the complete configuration is: 4 GV-Data Capture boxes connected back to a GV-Hub by Cat5 then USB into Geo-DVR. Any suggestions or advise would be greatly appreciated.
cctv_down_under 0 Posted March 21, 2007 try 1 x pos only and do not connect the Gv Data Box, you actually do not need it some times, also be careful what voltage you put through the data capture box it is low voltage and also check what your center pin is for the plug pack! cheri 0 Posted March 22, 2007 I'm sorry, but I'm unclear on how to check the center pin for the plug pack. Could you advise exactly what you mean please? Thanks for your help!
