hytes 0 Posted March 22, 2007 I have inherited a GV-650 system with an unknown password meaning we cannot use the remote viewer. The passuninstall.exe program doesn't work because the magic check box was apparenly not checked during installation. I hear there is a program that will let me reset the password, but I can't find it any where. Does anyone here know where I can find it? Thanks.
hytes 0 Posted March 26, 2007 Anyone? I know it exists, I've seen it talked about in other threads.
CollinR 0 Posted March 26, 2007 Do you have control center services installed? Is there any remote access to the box? We dont really like openly saying how to bypass Geo's security, it's not good for the product in the long run...
hytes 0 Posted March 26, 2007 I have total access to the box and manage the network it is on, I just don't know what password was used when Geovision was installed. Right now, I can only view the cameras on the box in the guest mode where you can't change anything. Unfortunately, I cannot provide remote access to anyone else as this is a super secure network and it could compromise the customers we have hosted on it. CollinR 0 Posted March 26, 2007 Since it's pretty useless right now any chance of bringing it home? How in the hell did this happen in a super secure area? I guess I'm probably not the only one asking that. Call the dealer that installed it, they should be able to do this and are obviously preapproved.
hytes 0 Posted March 26, 2007 I believe it is still actually recording so I can't take it down overnight in the event that their is some sort of incident. How it happened is simple - the people that used to manage the network gave me a bad password. Upon contacting them, they continue to say it's the password they gave me so they are no help. This install was done several years ago and probably several IT teams ago so information is lacking on the original install. Someone was kind enough to keep the Geovision install disc around - looks like I'll be formatting the box. I can't believe that uninstalling the password doesn't remove the passwords. cctv_down_under 0 Posted March 27, 2007 Who originally did the job, what was there name?
hytes 0 Posted March 27, 2007 Who originally did the job, what was there name? I have no idea. I don't even know when the install was done. How can I prove to you guys I have good intentions? I have physical access to the box - any security is meaningless once you have physical access - I'll just reformat the box. I'm looking for a way to save my customer some $$ by not spending 2 hours to reset a password (I manage their network on a contract basis.)
