kdberg 0 Posted August 1, 2004 I was looking at 5.5" and 5.6" TFT monitor kits offered by Super Circuits. Currently I use an HP Media Center Laptop to setup cameras. Getting tired of lugging around and setting up this lugable just for this purpose, hence the interest in the above. Prices are $269 and $329 respectively, with insufficient detail in the catalog to make an intelligent decision. What do other folks use for this purpose, and any specific experience with the Super Circuits units? http://www.supercircuits.com/store/prodinfo.asp?number=MON5TFT3&variation=&aitem=1&mitem=1 http://www.supercircuits.com/store/prodinfo.asp?number=MON5TFT&variation=&aitem=1&mitem=
rory 0 Posted August 1, 2004 I dont know why you would use a Laptop to set up a camera, a small TV would suffice, and has the inputs for the camera. Anyway, here are a few dedicated Technician Portable monitors. Others like DeltaVision, Eclipse, etc are also low cost. These come with rechargeable battery packs, and generally kits. The ones you listed are just small LCDs, doesnt look like they come in a protective case. http://www.spytown.com/4andunlcdcol.html Rory
kdberg 0 Posted August 1, 2004 Both the SuperCircuits monitors come in kits that include cases. Unfortunately, these are only shown in their printed catalog, not on the web site.
rory 0 Posted August 1, 2004 the main thing is the battery pack, the ones that just use a rechargable pack of batteries that are soldered to a lead that plugs into the LCD, dont use them, those soldered leads end up breaking, thats what the eclipse has and didnt take long to break on me, the Delta vision one has a hard pack that is attached the the back of the LCD.
