a94cobra 0 Posted March 26, 2007 I have used the uPNP of the router feature in the software. It works. Is there a way to have this run on it's own or something? Sometimes the router looses power. Not sure if it's power outages or someone bumpin power cords. But the router then looses all the port mappings. Is there a way for Geo8 to check that the router is setup each time it runs? Just trying to simplify this for the end user. The router apparently doesn't save any uPNP settings. I can always hard code them in I guess. Just figured Geo8 might do this, but couldn't find anything on it.
CollinR 0 Posted March 26, 2007 Hard code them in there. I kill uPNP on all my networks, I don't like software being able to open ports automagically. It's okay for the windows firewall and all but I manually configure the hardware firewall.
a94cobra 0 Posted March 26, 2007 I thought it was neat that it actually worked. Made it easy to get the web half up and running. I am going to have to hard code them in, just didn't know if there were any options there. You know how lazy people can be.
