suky 0 Posted October 14, 2009 I am looking for a motion tracking (smart) system that will initially detect motion and then rotate the camera to track a person as they walk through the room. Any suggestions, or will I have to spend alot of money on software design? Thanks. A PTZ Camera with a standalone DVR with motion detection.
bpzle 0 Posted October 14, 2009 If you do absolutley HAVE to have a motion tracking ptz, definetly install a fixed wide angle camera to capture the entire scene. Your going to miss a LOT if you dont. I saw the demo from that thing and it was just as crappy as I'd imagined. Poor thing was working so hard but just never could get a worth while picture of anything! thewireguys 3 Posted October 14, 2009 What happens when you have 2 or more moving objects in the FOV? Doesn't would out so well. Motion tracking can only work well in certain situations like indoors and no movement ...... don't even think about using it outdoor unless you are using analytics. zmxtech 0 Posted October 16, 2009 Im huge fan of MP cameras but a 16mp camera can only see so far, a RADAR controlled PTZ camera can zoom and track a car or subject miles away with thermal and or Video. Also it can do 360 around a perimeter. example: http://www.zmx.com.au/radar.htm
