Squintz 0 Posted April 6, 2007 I know this is nobodies fault but my own but I need to vent. I just spent 10 minutes posting a question about my new setup which included links to the product manuals that I am using and the specs. Turns out that because I don't have 10 post that I can not make a post like that. But what really ticks me off is that I was not able to edit what I attempted to post to make it suitable for the forums. I lost everything. I will end up trying again but my post will not be very complete.

I will end up trying again but my post will not be very complete. I had the same problem. I had to be creative in posting links so that the BBS software would not recognize it as such. I know that it is a pain, but it often helps me to copy/paste my reply somewhere before I hit the "Submit" button. That way, if my post gets lost or messed up, I can re-paste it and don't have to re-think the whole post again.
CollinR 0 Posted April 6, 2007 Yup I always compose long posts in a text editor and paste it over. When I read your thread I was going to offer to post the original for you assuming you had a copy. I assume you do not. *** Please keep in mind, before you came and this policy was created there was more spam. Almost every automated bot uses URLs and if they get denied 100% they will never reach the postcount required to post URLs. As a bonus the site staff doesn't need to manually delete them. Its only something like 10 posts too, so not difficult to aquire. With the quality of your past posts I doubt anyone would care if you just "BTT" this 3 times and get the 10 posts you needed. I'm not staff though so use your judgement.
larry 2 Posted April 10, 2007 Sorry about your frustration but we had to implement that feature due to robot porn spammers littering the forum with links. May be we can do a better job of informing new members about that restriction.
