m623d 0 Posted April 8, 2007 I have bought 3 wired cameras that each come with there own 9v power supply. Would it be possible to use just 1 power supply for all 3 cams? the cams say 9v 100mA and the power supplies say the same. thanks Mark
rapid 0 Posted April 8, 2007 9 volts seems to be an odd power supply for cameras. I would suggest three power supplies rather then one supply. Chances are high that the supply won't have enough power for all three. Plus if you have these cameras going to different locations watch your power cable length as this will affect supply output. If you opt for the one supply, I would look for at least a 1000 ma supply.
marzsit 0 Posted April 8, 2007 another problem with multiple cameras off one supply... if a thief tries to make off with one of the cameras and cuts the cables, the possibility of losing all 3 camera signals is higher if the power supply gets shorted out in the attempt.. one of the main reasons why i like having each camera on it's own dedicated supply when i can get away with it
