Iv'e got the AVI. Blues

Recommended Posts

When I save AVI files. They don't always playback right. Sometime they play too slow. Sometimes they are upside down. And also the time and date are un readable. Here are the programs I have been using to open the Avi's.

Winamp. Works the best but sometimes the video is upside down.

Windows Media Player. Sometimes I only get sound with frozen video.

Inter Video Win DVD 5. Used to work good now multiple playback problems.

I copied all my videos to a disk and took them to another computer. Half would not work.

Anyone have any ideas what the problem is?

What programs do you guys use to playback your Avi's? I'm trying to give the police some evidence so I need to get this issue resolved soon.

Also for some reason I cant save one long avi. I have to save them five minutes at a time. Thanks for the help. Dave

Upside down AVI files can be due to DirectVobSub software

In the software there is a property under the Misc tab, with a tick box "flip picture vertically". If you have this installed, please make sure that this is not ticked.

I would recommend that when giving evidence to police you do the proper backup through GeoVision rather that creating AVI files. The police then have everything they need.

James. Iv'e been wanting to learn how to do the backup. I tried the backup and that worked Great! Thanks. Now when I take that backup to another computer. Will it open on the other computer with EZViewLog program? And if so how would the police no to click on the EZViewLog icon? Thanks Dave
