313-313 0 Posted April 17, 2007 I have this customer that had a crashed HD. I had to insert a new harddrive and load all the required software. GV card came with a serial number but no USB dongle. I was wondering where in the program should I enter the serial number so that it works correctly? thanks
rory 0 Posted April 18, 2007 Geovision asked for a serial number? What software version is this, and how old is the card? Ive never seen it ask for a serial number before.
CollinR 0 Posted April 18, 2007 The other encoder chip can use a serial number to prevent piracy. If so it's in software not something you manually enter.
313-313 0 Posted April 18, 2007 I think it is Version 7.05. The system is about 2 years old. when GV system starts up , there is a message that says"USB protection key not found". The CD case has a set of serial numbers. Just don't know what those numbers are meant for!
CameraGenius 0 Posted April 19, 2007 You do not need the serial # for anything to do with the software. If you are trying to use 7.0 and your getting usb protection key error your card is probably not supported by 7.0 and you will need to install version 6.0-6.
cctv_down_under 0 Posted April 20, 2007 Or it cant recognize that the card is there because the driver is no longer installed, this is a common problem if you install the software before you install the card driver, try uninstalling the software tehn install the card driver and reinstall the software...but I think the porblem is your card does not support Version
