VST_Man 1 Posted April 28, 2007 serial port (usually set to 1) must be programmed in the software, along with the protocol you are using. I stick with Pelco D, 2400 baud. Camera also has a assignable "ID" usually via dip switch settings.........make sure the camera and software are the same. I've started using a 485 converter that has a small led on it that shows a flash when data is sent. helps identify if all is working to that point.
scorpion 0 Posted April 28, 2007 What source are you using for the led version of the 485? I like this solution!
VST_Man 1 Posted April 28, 2007 give me a day or 2.need to find the paperwork...I usually "google" shop til I find it...........better at surfing than shuffling
scorpion 0 Posted April 28, 2007 It is funny that you say that! I can relate to that one hundred percent!!!! In my case thank goodness for save shortcut to desk top and then later throw it in to a folder for easy look up later. Darn what folder did I put that in? magpie 0 Posted April 28, 2007 Cheers for that I am going to assume at this stage that the cable i am using maybe needs looking at. all configs look good but still getting no response from camera unless i have missed somthing of course lol
scorpion 0 Posted April 28, 2007 I was curious. Did you "bench test it before the installation, and did it work? Is is possible to get to the camera now? If you can take it down you can hook it up to the controller directly for trouble shooting. This will tell you if you have a bad point in the wire somewhere. I would probably start trying various configurations till I got lucky.

vv4yn0 0 Posted November 13, 2010 How did you go with getting PTZ to work on this camera? I am suffering the same issues but I thought it was because the JVC cameras use a propriety protocol - I am hoping I am wrong. Wayne
