I bought a used Sony PTZ ACD-1500. It works fine on my kitchen table. I'm not sure how to make sure it is weatherproof. It uses a speeddome which screws to the wall mount. Should a rubber gasket of some sort go between the dome and the mount? Should the cable going into the dome itself be sealed in some way? The wall mount itself is not waterproof as the underside is covered with a thin removable plate.

It believe the dome has a heater and fan. If I seal it up totally would not changes in outside atmospheric pressure cause problems? Doesn't the fan need venting to the outside somehow?

Also, the cable going in the dome is short and will need to be spliced within the mount. I could not find any miniature vidio/power/control cable to try and rewire the dome itself. The existing cable is about 5mm in diameter.

Thanks!
