RdK_1973 0 Posted May 9, 2007 I am considering to use a DVR to integrate video in my surveillance software. I do need some special functionality that seems to be rare in the DVR/NVR world. My existing surveillance software shows a log of events. If you click the event then you can see all details about the event. I want to add a 'video' button. When it is pressed then the video of the event is displayed. So, I need a DVR that has the following requirements: Low cost. Ability to view live and archived data from another website (it's fine if the actual video stream is from the DVR). Ability to control the DVR remotely (using CGI, SOAP, ...). It is very hard to get this information from the DVR vendors. They all have APIs, but until now I haven't found a DVR that is capable to do this. I am especially interested in the AVTech equipment.
