Guard 0 Posted May 11, 2007 Does anyone know what the warranty period on KT&C cameras is? I can't seem to find it in any of their literature. Thanks.
securitymonster 0 Posted May 11, 2007 I believe it is 2 years but don't quote me. You can call them @ 1-888-767-2288
Guard 0 Posted May 11, 2007 Thanks for your reply, I will call them shortly. We bought and installed two of their cameras just over a year ago, one board, one bullet. Yesterday, both started to have problems, however the two Speco's on the same system are fine. Very strange. I don't see KT&C listed on the securitymonster site, any personal experience with brand? Thanks again.
Guard 0 Posted May 11, 2007 Yes, you are correct, I just called them and it is 2 years on bullet and board cameras. Thanks again.
securitymonster 0 Posted May 11, 2007 We've installed some KT&C. There products are decent, the only camera we use from them is the KPC-N600 series bullet with IR MECH cut filter. Its a good camera for the money. However, we asked for a 24V AC camera and recieved 12V DC. We had them replace them with 24V AC and they shipped 12V DC cameras inside 24V AC marked housings.....it was a bit frustrating for both us and our client. It has been worked out. They also seem to be very sensitive to power. I would try to power the cameras your having problems with locally and see if this helps with any issues. Or maybe removing the Speco cameras from the power supply and see if that changes anything. Overall, they are a budget orientated camera. I am curious to see how the new N600 WDR bullet works out. kao 0 Posted May 17, 2007 We've installed a lot of KT&C cameras - mostly vandal domes and box cameras. They are decent cameras and we always order the 12/24 dual voltage cams so power has never been a problem for us. We have run in to a few problems...I'd have to say about a 2% failure rate (not sure if thats good or bad) and they have always been real good about replacing the cameras right away. Guard 0 Posted May 19, 2007 I've pulled the two KT&C cameras back into the shop and they work fine. So you'll get no complaints about KT&C equipment from me, so far. It's looking like power cabling may be an issue with one of them. However it's a pretty long run (80+ feet) at 12VDC. Time to start checking connections. atropine 0 Posted May 26, 2007 Anyone in Australia or NZ know where to get KT&C cameras from? I wanted to get a KT&C KPC650BH, saw it on an american website for US$110, so started ordering it online but the postage cost was US$79!!! so didn't get it. Not an i inflated postage cost either. I figure a hong kong retailer would be cheapest postage wise, but cant' find any online.
