skeee1 0 Posted May 23, 2007 Hello, Great information on this site and the people seem like they are helpful. I just installed a CPCam DVR with a LAN connection. I can view it on my network but I can not view it outside the network. I setup a DNS acount and opened port 80 on my router but still nothing. Could someone please help me to do this? My network has a wireless Linksys router hooked up to Verizon DSL. I have a LAN cable attached to the DVR which allows me to view it on my network. Thank you. photys 0 Posted May 24, 2007 Not knowing your specific equipment, I´ll take this from a networking angle. Port 80 is already in use within your router. Can you change the port within the CPCam DVR to 1201 for example. Then port forward 1201 within the router. Connect using xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1201 (replacing xxx for your WAN side IP address or DNS account name).
rory 0 Posted May 24, 2007 also, maybe your ISP is blocking port 80 .. you could try port 81 and see if that works, change it in the DVR also though.
