mamajama 0 Posted May 31, 2007 Hi, It has been quite sometime since I have visited CCTVforum. I started doing CCTV installs about three years back and installed 90% Geovision cards. I did this on the side after losing my job in the PC world. I had a Tiawanese friend who goes back once a year or so to see family and he told me his dad's office was near Geovsions. I asked him to pick me up a card as surely the direct source would be the best price. He brought me back a card and it saved me around $100 at the time. Well, problem was he brought back a Taiwanese version that will only work with Mandarin Windows XP installed, not the US version. This was verified by me installing it on a Chinese copy of XP and it work, cept I cannot read Chinese:) Also I swapped out the big 20 pin IC chip with ones I was installing at the time and the card would work on US XP. I asked for help several years ago to no avail. Now it has been nearly three years with this card sitting in the box. Recently I have some vandalism problems and I am wanting to try and catch the culprits. I have some cameras left over, but no card that works. This card is not pirated card, it has ALL original documentaion, boxes, etc. What I am asking for is some help to use this card. Via a chip upgrade, USB dongle if it will work, anything. Geovision got the money for their card, I have installed many of their cards, now I would like to catch these people destroying my property and use the card I paid for:) Sorry for the rant:) But please, any help would be greatly appreciated from myself and my family.
