ger 0 Posted August 18, 2004 Hi Folks, Newbie here... I'm looking to put a CCTV system at home...PC based with remote monitoring. Will be very simple, 3 cameras, all outside covering the area around my home. Nightime capability will be required. I have the PC capability and a broadband connection but am totally confused by the other elements. GeoVision seems to have all of the capability but are there alternatives? I've seen stuff on ebay, (cameras, cards etc) and am tempted to invest the £70-80 just to see what it looks like.......I assume that you get what you pay for when talking about cameras with low light capability.... May be interested in discussing requirements with local vendors All advice greatly recieved! Cheers, Gerry Gerry McLaughlan, Scotland, UK.
Thomas 0 Posted August 18, 2004 There are PC based alternitives. Us, Digaflower and a large number of other companies. I would avoid buying the card and software over E-Bay however. You won't get any tech support and you run the (rather high) risk of getting a pirate card.
CCTVINSTALLER 0 Posted August 18, 2004 I agree with Thomas, the tech support is an issue. Not sure if anyone distributes geo in scotland, but you can try rfconcepts in ireland, they also supply Day night cameras (budget) as you probably don't require professional day night cameras.
