Lucifa42 0 Posted July 6, 2007 Hi, hopefully someone can give me a bit of help. I've got 2 DVR feeds using Wavereader 3.1 to connect to them via ethernet/IP. They have been working fine for ages, but now whenever I connect to either one, I get the message: "A normal connection could not be established, would you like to make a live connection instead?" In a live connection I can't review playback If I say no I get the message: "The unit has rejected this connection because it is already connected to another application". This seems to imply that someone else is connected, however it's been like this for several days now. I do work at a site where a few others have the software as well so it is possible that someone else is connected, however we've never had this issue before considering one machine is connected to the feed 24/7. Perhaps the DVR unit has 'hung' thinking that someone is connected to playback review when they aren't? I'm guessing perhaps rebooting the DVR might fix this, though I am loathe to do it. Lucifa42 0 Posted July 6, 2007 Nevermind. I ended up rebooting the DVR unit and it works again. Guess it did get stuck.
rory 0 Posted July 6, 2007 Yes, some of the older units use to hang (the network side) sometimes if you just exited wavereader without disconnecting first. The newer ones dont normally do that but its possible. Either way they typically would still be recording on the local side. Rory
