scorpion 0 Posted July 10, 2007 (edited) A business is being built. They would like a system design for the cameras, and for the software used for chatrooms. I am presently doing the surveillance setup, and they were really impressed at how we approached them, created a system design, and covered "all of the bases" in the presentation. He would like to do a multiview video chatroom. ____________________________________________________ I have never done any software of this nature. Has anyone done a setup similiar to this? Can a computer be set up for muliti room chatroom, such as two, or four rooms? It would be interesting to see if voip could be linked in as well. The building is not built yet. If you were to ask questions I may not have the answers. I would imagine from the way they are talking the rooms size will be 10 X 10. Be creative! I am looking for over the top ideas! Thank you in advance! Edited July 11, 2007 by Guest

imcclendon 0 Posted July 10, 2007 (edited) It is not my intention to pass judgment on you or your clientele. You have contributed a lot to the forum and I didn’t mean to make you have to defend any business decision. I wish that I could give you advice, but I am not an IT expert. I admire the fact that you are attempting to expand your business into other areas and wish you good luck. Edited July 11, 2007 by Guest
scorpion 0 Posted July 11, 2007 (edited) In all honesty you hit it on the head. Maybe I should let you continue to think that this is not the case, but I cannot be dishonest. They were refered to us from a business. This business had severe security issues. They have clients that "fall in love with the ladys, and try to meet them outside after shift changes, or after hours. The ladys were approached at their cars by strangers. Some customers are nice, and well intentioned, others are delusional, and others are just "creepy", and others are very dangerous. Video surveillance has given the club the tools that they need for security. Electronic access keeps those that do not belong out of the dressing area. They also have issues with the ladys exboyfriends, and exhusbands. Some past situations have really gotten out of control. You can never stop these situations, but you can limit them, and you can contain them to a degree. Customer fights can be an issue as well. This new company went seeking advise for similiar security issues. In the preplanning stage our name came up many different times from many different customers of ours. I look forward to any IP challenge, and I look forward to those on this forum who will guide me, challange me to highest excellant standards, and to those who will point me in the right direction where I can educate myself rather than be spoon fed, and not learn anything at all. To all on this forum who who have helped in my time of need, and to those who will help in the future I thank you from the bottom of my heart. CollinR 0 Posted July 11, 2007 I think you should probably pass on this, that or subcontract out the interface. If you don't know much about computers / networking/ programming this is going to get way over your head really really fast. Nothing wrong with not knowing, excellent trait that you own up to it. rory 0 Posted July 11, 2007 Man I would say sub it out to me, but I cant work in the US, besides there should be other guys in your area you should be able to sub out the work to if you cant handle certain aspects of it .. Now that said, is this a Cabaret or a Strip club?? Both are illegal down here anyway, besides for the Casino and tourists I dont get the video chatroom though, if its a dance club? scorpion 0 Posted July 11, 2007 I act as a "General Contractor" and I sub out specialty work. I like to learn as much as I can. I may not know how to rebuild an engine, but if a mechanic tells me my Flux Capacitor needs to be replaced then I would know that he is playing me. When I am out of my element I depend on the "experts" for advice. A fool and their money are soon parted. I don't want to be snowed either. I will use the experts advice, and I will use advice from this forum, and from there I can make an informed decision, and give my customers the best service that I can provide. rory 0 Posted July 11, 2007 Ok, now we got that cleared away, what are you going to do? Well what is it they want, whats the video chat for, local lan or internet? Always on or just sometimes?
CollinR 0 Posted July 11, 2007 I assume he will want it over the net so he can expand his customer base and regulars need not leave home. This is where all the problems would come from, as he will probably want to charge for this service. He would have to once he starts getting that $500/mo T1 line installed. So you need the whole secured CC charging, viewing authorization so the ID doesn't get posted on a BBS. There may exist an adult web temple that does alot of that for you however then you need to integrate live video into it. Heck maybe that exists too.
