steve6690 0 Posted January 6, 2004 I need a colour cam to cover where my car is parked. Ideally it would be as unobtrusive as possible but needn't be smaller than a bullet cam. It's going to be mounted about 7 ft from the ground on the fascia board above my garage door. I would need to be able to cover an area from 2m to about 7m away and I would like evidential quality accurate facial recognition within that area day and night. I'm thinking Sony Ex-view 480 TVL bullet camera with 4.3mm lens or 4mm - 9mm varifocal. The price concerns me though. Is there a cheaper / better option ? I am planning to use a stand-alone IR illuminator if one is required. It will be used with a Geovision GV250 card. http://www.rfconcepts.co.uk/color_bullet_camera.htm Thanks in advance Steve
AVCONSULTING 0 Posted January 7, 2004 Whatever brand you decide on make sure it has day/night ability so it can utilize infrared. Not all cameras can see infrared lighting. I'd look at the Extreme CCTV line of cameras since all of them are designed with infrared in mind. The website is www.extremecctv.com
