nationwidesystems 0 Posted August 11, 2007 Hi Guys, hope you can help? I have two day/night cameras about 270 ft away from the dvr equipment and it needs to be powered remotely from the dvr end.. The cameras uses about 750mA max @ 12 Volts Dc. Should i go for 12V dc Or 24V AC with a converter on?? & what size siamese cable should i use??
scorpion 0 Posted August 12, 2007 Hello Nationwidesystems! Distance wise it looks like you are ok for RG 59. You will need a large gauge for the two conductor for power. http://www.altronix.com/index.php?pid=4¬e=1&PHPSESSID=4bcb5bfed2f00ae9bbd6242504f6acd6 Perhaps you can use a higher voltage at the DVR end to make up for the voltage drop? If you use AC it may be possible to have a ground loop issue.
