GunRunner1 0 Posted August 14, 2007 I bought a system that came as a DVR that also has windows XP on it the manual says GV-800. There isa cd. that says GEO Vison. In the manual it says select make and model of PTZ. Will this system operate A PTZ with out anding more hardware ect. If so will it work with a older Pelco pan tilt and a Computar zoom lens? kensplace 0 Posted August 15, 2007 If you are talking about the pan tilt/lens from your other post, then no, you would need a telemetry system in place that geovision could control. You would either need a telemetry receiver capable of receiving rs232 or rs485 etc signals (but you would need an adapter for your serial port, or a geo addon to convert your pc serial to rs485) or a telemetry controller that can receive the same, linked to a receiver. Its the receiver that powers the lens/pan tilts, it receives data from either the pc (via geo) or from a controller that receives control data fom the pc (geo). You wont be able to directly interface that pan tilt and lens without additional hardware.
GunRunner1 0 Posted August 15, 2007 O.k. Thanks, Ya the more I thought about it the more I could see it would not match up. Guess It would be better to get a stand alone unit.
