Ultraview Wide Dynamic Problems

Recommended Posts

Ok, got this camera for a job. All i get is major pixelised image, light levels change from near normal to what looks like a thermal im sage. Im getting ready to send this back and tell them just send me an exview camera one time with normal back light settings, cause this is crap.

Any ideas?? No its not the lens, at least I used 2 seperate CS mount 1/3" Kalatel Lenses. I have changed all settings on the camera, and also reset to default, no change. The AI pot level doesnt do anything by the way.

It looks like it will work ok for indoors for now, but i mean i have a cheap 1 lux dome outdoors that does a better job than this camera, and sees more bright in the outdoor lighting.

thanks

Rory

Looks like it has an auto shutter. Everything is OSD. If I lower the AI threshhold it gets better but dim compared to other cameras Ive used. Even so though, the picture still has the pixels sought of like some type of enhancement being made digitally. Question, are wide dynamic cameras supposed to be same type of picture as a normal one, appart from lighting? I would have thought so..? Basically this image looks like crap .. the lighting part works like they say though.

Rory,

Have you tried using a manual iris lens? If you get the exposure about right, and then deliberately over expose the image, see if it replicates the problem you're having at the moment?

Yep I tried a manual iris lens also, same thing.

I got a reply from GE that there is something wrong with the either the imager or the iris on this camera and to replace it so im sending it back! My first wide dynamic, just my luck these days ;-(

Thanks for the help though guys.

they dont sell the Ganz cameras.

Have you tried any of the Panasonic Wide Dynamic cameras? The day night versions look interesting.

Saw the Pana next to the Ultraview.

Ultraview outperformed in WDR exposure, like testing with a direct lighting into the camera.

During normal operation the difference can't be seen.

just get in my hyperd and fuji 1.4mm f1.4 lens looks ok and so far it works fine

i order 3pc and 1 broke in 2hr

video out stop working, so i am geting rma for it now

2nd have 4mm f:0.75 ai lens looks like better nite sensitivity compare f1.4 fuji dc lens

so far it works better than my old ex ccd 0.8lux in houston sun

i can see beeter no sun washout of image 0.5-1 lux is not good for nite

still use sony ex bw ccd ~0.05lux 2.7-8mm f1.0 lens

did not see any problem like you have on ai or dc lens

and this is same chipset like you have

only 5 setings on osd pub menu plus 3 hidden setings

exp, agc,wb,fluorescent, sync, and expos bios,ai thresh,dd lens and save set

arm100 cpu is running hot and that is a problem on this model at this time

use axis 2400 server and 2191 audio for testing

Putting in 12 cameras in a parking garage with back light problems, and was thinking of GE's ultraview camera.

How is the camera, compared to other wide dynamic cameras?

i do not think is good for garage if you do not have light level for it

at the moment this technology is not low light level (0.5-1.0 lux)

as the company specs is listing in a manual

new model (bigger than present 1/3" cmos sensor new 1/2") will be out next year and more sensitive ???

have some hyperd ~900 jpg files of my 3 cameras of 2 days 10 min interval

if you like to see let me know

i am trying to get some linux html video gallery for display so can see a day to nite video

expecting some more good news soon

(new better bios for a camera day/nite option )
