camera recommendations?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Looking for decent quality day/night outdoor cctv cam for around $175-250. fixed lens ok. IR needs to reach 80feet. Parking lot monitoring app.

2 Cams will cover a viewing area of 90 deg from a about 18' height, at the corner of a 80x60' rectangle parking area. I figure each cam having a 6mm lens, 1/3" CCD should cover it.

I need to have good clear images, going to a networked MPEG4 DVR.

Should I shoot for 480TVL or better ?

Wondering if anyone has good/bad comments about the following cctv cams, recommendations on other cams if you know some good ones in this price range. Also recommendation on the network DVR would be great too.

-SecuNext SN-SCR351 520TVL Day/Night

-SCD CFC6040IR 420TVL or CFC6032IR3

-SCD CFC6013EX 480TVL

-SCD CFC6057IR

-Xavee XA-480-45M 480TVL

thanks !!

I noticed that you had several SCD listed.

SCD has been pretty good to me, and I can not complain about the service, or the tech support. I have never used any of the cameras that you have listed from SCD.

This is one that I have used. I highly recommend it, and I use it alot. No it is not on par with the EXtreme brand, but this is more in my price range.

I recommend.......

CFC6300VF

Color High Resolution 5-50mm 280’ IR Security Camera

• 480 Lines of Resolution Sony Super HAD CCD

• 280 Foot Night-Time IR Range

• 14 Long Range IR LED's & 21 Wide Angle IR

• Built-In Electronic Photo-Cell

• Tough IP-67 Rated Aluminum Housing

• 5-50mm Varifocal Lens

• Power 12 VDC

For the 24 volt series the model number is...

CFC6300AC Same specs with AC instead.

I use this for Hummers, and small yachts, or any expensive vehicle!!

I use these for motorized gated communities as well.

I am not saying that you need this for both locations, but I would recommend it for at least one place, and save a little on the other spot.

Hereby I would like to introduce our smart auto tracking dome cameras. The cams can track moving objects in the area.
