a94cobra 0 Posted September 2, 2007 All I get is the Multicam System Startup! Please Wait... Screen. What do I do here to get into the program so I can set up the system.
photys 0 Posted September 2, 2007 The gv-1120 to gv-1480 series is more picky about hardware. Confirm yours meets the minimum specifications. Strip out any old gv-250 software. Check Control panel - system - hardware - device manager to see if there are any gv-250 references Check the event viewer in your OS to see if there are any problems there. rory 0 Posted September 2, 2007 What he said .. Remove all Geo software, remove all Geo hardware drivers from the Device Manager. Remove the GV250 Folder, delete all Geo INI Files from the Windows Directory, specifically GeoMulti.ini. (note this will remove any previous settings) Command prompt: (perhaps do this as a last resort) CD C:\Windows Del geo*.ini That will remove the main geo ini files. Some will remain but should not matter. Run a Reg Cleaner, such as CCleaner. Restart the PC, dont install any drivers when Windows finds the hardware, just cancel. Run the Geo Drivers Install program from the Geo drivers folder, let it do its thing, dont click anything until it has completed. Restart the PC, check the Device manager that it says DVR Device and GV1480. There should now not be any Geo hardware in the Sounds Device section; the Combo cards have their own DVR section. Reinstall the new geo software and select the GV1480. Restart and see what happens.
a94cobra 0 Posted September 2, 2007 This is a P4 machine with intel chipset. I used a GV1000 on it for a couple years before. Always worked good. I only used the GV-250 to play with the 250. I could always reformat, but was trying to save some time. I uninstalled the 250 software before , but I will make sure to get some of the things mentioned here and see if that works. a94cobra 0 Posted September 2, 2007 I removed the gv1480 software. Removed every file that had 'geo' in it on the hard drive, that seemed related. Made sure the registry was clean, but still no go. So I reformatted and and I am installing XP now. thanks for the fast replies though.
