I was wondering if any have done any comparing of the different software version and how much CPU/MEMORY they are using when recording from same source and same computers. I have a feeling that the resource needed for the V8 is a bit higher then the V7. Also I am a bit worried about V8.2 will need even more power since they introduce video analytics among others. Also a part of selling GV is that you tell customer they can upgrade, but if PC can't handle it, then it will only cause trouble. So if any tested this, I would love to hear about it.... rory 0 Posted September 5, 2007 I dont have any numbers sitting in front of me, but yes for certain it is a much higher memory usage with 8.0, compared to 7.0. It also takes alot longer to start up. Another thing, I tested the 8.1.2 codecs with my software, and it was causing all kinds of slow video loading etc .. so except for the H.264 and Mpeg4 ASP the others I have kept as 7.0 for now, runs much smoother.
