foolygoofy 0 Posted September 26, 2007 Hello All We bought an Ultra CCTV DVR6220TN-USB-CDRW system. It is not a PC based system. The sytem is in the middle of the property where the only way to get access to the interet is wireless. We have a computer there with a linksys wireless anthena connect by USB, the manual of the system, which is not too clear on instruction and most things come by assuming, it says that the DVR system can have a Ethernet cable go from the back of the system into a computer and then after running some setting you can access it online using their software. We tried, but no luck. Is it possible to connect the DVR to a PC by the ethernet ports and then have the PC connect wireless to a router and then the DVR will be able to get online? photys 0 Posted September 26, 2007 Firstly, temporarily move the dvr near a hub or router on your property, plug it in to the network and run the softwear if need be. After testing, use a standard wireless access point connected to the DVR with an ethernet cable and move the DVR back to its original location. Also remember to assign the access point a static IP. If the DVR is ethernet enabled, it doesnt care whether the signal it gets is via a wired router or a wireless access point.
