CCTV_Suppliers 0 Posted September 26, 2007 I do not understand the questions... does anyone? Are you referring to text overlay of data on video? Example, transfer of text lets say from cash register to video and then store so that later you can find a video based on text search? It will help if you can describe your application little more clear or exactly what is your application?
stress3 0 Posted September 27, 2007 Hi Recon ! deepest apolagies for bad spelling and not explaining more? yes the question is how do u text overlay of data on video ? does any one have any experience with this ? and also the customer wants to view his cams from back store dvr at the till ? so im a little unsure of wether this can be done on a Toshiba st-71 Pos terminal ! Any guidance or discussion would be Fan daby ! Stress3
photys 0 Posted September 27, 2007 Aye. Essentially your stealing the data that would normally be sent to the printer. At the POS terminal you can adjust what data gets sent to the printer. At the DVR you can position the data on the screen. But it also depends on the DVR being able to accommodate Text overlay. Do you already have a DVR? It can be done with Geovision and Avermedia PC card units. Additional POS hardware required. One per Terminal. With geovision units, you can use re-wired serial cables instead of additional POS hardware. If your POS terminal has something like "Till Scan" built in, and the ability to print directly to a printer, you can send the printer data down a serial cable straight to a Geovision DVR. You can also buy Serial to usb adapters, meaning you can easily accomodate 6 POS terminals. You need to discuss this with the POS terminal suppliers and your DVR supplier. photys 0 Posted September 27, 2007 the customer wants to view his cams from back store dvr at the till ? Some tills are running Windows in the background. If thats the case with this toshiba, then just install the viewing softwear and he can switch between the till application and the viewing application. Your in Scotland? Give me an excuse to fly home and I'll drop in.
