Server Close Message Via WeBcam

Recommended Posts

When I connect to this system via webcam, I see video for all 8 cameras, then I get Server close message on cameras 2-8. Every 10 seconds it auto reconnect and I see video on cameras 2-8 again for about 5 seconds then I get the server close message again. Any ideas. Camera 1 always stays connected. Using Ver 8.11

What is your bandwith on both of the locations?

enoguh!

Can you run a "ping /t your webcam ip" and then log onto your webcam while running that in the background then have a look on the ping values and see if you notice something special there?

Server close, at least in my development, is when your network/internet is disconnected, or drops the connection. But basically GeoVision's idea of what it is: Server closed the connection.

am i do all this from a remote computer, or should I do it on the DVR

Try it from the remote location, not Geovision server!

If that is true why is camera 1 never say server close, only camera 2-8, if you would like to take a look at it Rory send me a pm and i will give you the user name and password. Really need to get this fix, they want us to do 30 more locations.

Is that 512 the bandwidth the ISP told you, or is that tested from the DVR site? Also, is that the upload bandwidth or the download bandwidth, at the DVR site?

If there is only say 128K upload, that would be typical to see the cameras dropping off here and there, especially with higher quality cameras, color cameras, or alot of cameras such as 16.

Each camera is a separate connection, so because one drops off, doesn't mean all the others will.
