Here is the layout 1) 285 ft long x 150 ft wide parking lot 2) building is in bottom left of parking lot 3) cameras are located on exterior of 2nd floor (which covers the first part of the parking lot) (so 50ft span x 142 ft out x 16ft of ground = roughly a __ mm lens)( I will determine the lens requirement when I get to a lens calculator) 4) I believe the span should be more like 20 ft x 142 x 16 and use two more cameras. Any suggestions? 5) Now the outer parking lot requires a little more thought. I still need to cover the area, yet with PTZ cameras. 6) Problem that customer has. Individuals are coming into parking lot in a Van, they pull into a parking spot and then break into cars on both sides. Then they leave. 7) Customer wants the plates if possible and a nice picture of the crooks. I like the feature on the Sanyo PTZ with tracking, has anyone used this and comments. Does the camera get confused if there is a lot of traffic in the parking lot? 9) I am open to other ideas, I have used the Samsung zoom camera in the past and it does a nice job but looking for a better solution Any help? Thanks First off, Sanyo PTZ domes do not exist anymore.. and they did not come with "tracker" even though I read one of their articles while back that it was suppose to....... Bosch makes Envirodomes that have built in "tracker" and if it is programmed correctly, it works exceptionally well. To get license plates and exceptional pictures, you have to consider ExtremeCCTV product line... Very few, if any, other manufactures have decent license plate readers and actually deliver such performance. We have used them before with excellent results. You can have a very rich mixture of ExtremeCCTV license plate solution coupled with Bosch Envriodomes with built in "tracker" and decent matrix switch (or a keyboard that will act as the controller mechanism) that will give you overall excellent performance... and dependent what type of DVR you have in place (I hope something very good), then you can have a package that you will be very proud of... and I am sure that you customer will catch those bastards and prosecute them... CSCOUT2001 0 Posted October 13, 2007 The DVR will be getting ~ 12 - 15 frames per seconds per camera, it is our own. If interested I can pass along information at a later date. Our low end gets 4 frames per second per camera and our high end gets 22 - 25 frames per camera per second. 4 channell or 16 channell doesn't matter. I say fps / camera rather than 120fps like other companies because I think 120fps is misleading. Why? will it be 30 frames per second on one camera and then when you add the next camera.... does it drop to a lower frame rate? Usually DVRs do. It looks like I need to find out more about the Bosch PTZ cameras. We have used Ganz, Pelco, Accudome, and Samsung with good results. Usually we set up a tour or Cruise with the PTZ to zoom in around the license plate, circle around and back out to get the individual and the vehicle and then move onto the next pump or area of interest.But we are getting off the subject. I will take a look at the Bosch line up and then report back with which one I think will work out the best. Thanks for letting me know Sanyo does not have the PTZ. rory 0 Posted October 13, 2007 you could use any PTZ, then using the DVR, set up a preset, so when there is motion detection it zooms into that preset area, and hopefully, depending on the DVR, zooms back out after a certain amount of time after motion has finished. This will depend on the DVR though. Optionally setup actual motion detectors/beams at the locations, then tie them into the DVR using IO and use that to detect motion for the presets. I know we bought their last batch of domes quite of few months ago and according to Sanyo, they had or were about the discontinue all their dome lineup... CSCOUT2001 0 Posted October 15, 2007 If we use reference cameras and set them for motion, I can tell the PTZ to move to that spot and yes after a certain period of time, it will go back to its tour. We can also do what you say, alarm goes off and the PTZ will zoom in to the door with the alarm. I am after the PTZ that will track though, Dyna??? has one, I have seen it working, individual says it works but not that well. He had some programming issues at first.
