blakemsf 0 Posted September 30, 2004 I am sorry but I am a newbie here so please bear with me. I have a computer lab that I want to install a camera and record the video somehow. I would like for it to be accessable via network and possibly have its own webserver to link it into a website for all to see. What type of hardware am I looking at? Network camera, network connection, do I use a DVR or PC with card? I looked at Axis Communications cameras and was interested in them. My plans are to eventually expand this out to the rest of the CCTV cameras we have but are not networked and network them. They run into a PC that is dead right now. I do not know what type of cameras they are just in a dome. Sorry for the questions but I am very new to this but it really interests me. Thanks, SB
Thomas 0 Posted September 30, 2004 Well there are somethings you can do to narrow down your choices. First, what is your budget? How many cameras are you going to expand to? Those Dome cameras, who makes them? Are they PTZ (movabile, zoomable)? Do you need support for thier protocol? Do you need recording? How much? What kind of tech support level do you need? And what resources do you have now?
