Housing to Mount Toshiba IK-WB15A Camera in soffit

I have 4 Toshiba

I really like them, they take a really good shot in low light.

 

I am looking to soffit mount them at a house I am doing.

 

Any reason why I couldnt mount it in a dome like this?

Is there a cheaper solution? The way the thoshiba comes out of the box is that it is weather resistant as shown in the picture. But even after you remove the sun visor there issnt an easy way to semi recess mount it that I can figure out.

 

The can is 7" diameter...I figure I can fashinon some bracket so the camera sits just behind this mounts glass dome.
