Legit Geo CD, now a DVD

Recommended Posts

Well I'll be, I just received a Geo card, and the CD is not a CD, its a DVD. Now how do they expect that to run in a CD Drive!??

They messed up big with that idea .. well lucky I have 8.12 anyway, but for others out there, be aware they seem to be sending DVDs now instead of CDs.

LOL They been doing that for a while now!

By the way they work great in the DVD drive!

In fact the importer of PC parts that I use dont sell CD drives anymore.

Also the price at the end was more or less the same!

Darn, last card I got had a CD though, was only a month or so ago ..

But yeah the CDRW is still cheaper than the DVDRW .. like $15 instead of $30 .. on the US side. Never thought of getting a DVD/CDRW Combo as we dont need a DVD player for the DVR, though those are not much more than the CDRWs.

You get your Geo stuff thru the US office or straight from Taipei?

Nah I biy from a US Distributor, an advertiser on this forum actually.

I dont buy enough to warrant buying from Geo themselves.

Hey Rory, how come you don't use DVD-rw drives in your DVR's? For Backups, they hold so much more data and DVDrs are cheaper then cdrs too.

I use the DVD-RW in the high end ones, just the CDRW in the budget ones. That said, I dont know of any of my clients that have ever used the DVD-RW (personally I never have either) .. most have USB drives that hold much more and is sooo much easier to use.

DVD disks are more $$ down here actually. Also never had to back up anything over the size of a CD. Evidence for the cops has only required the video of the incident in my experience, so typically its been no more than 100MB.
