VisualGate Systems Inc. Has anyone seen this new product?

Recommended Posts

I have a flier from VisualGate Systems. It appears that they have a CCTV system that runs over existing AC wires in a house or building. Here are some specs.

Selectable MPEG$ or MJPEG video

supports 16 cameras at 30fts

local and remote access to the DVRs

Resolution UP TO 640x480

They sell kits, DVR cameras and screens

Stuff sounds kind of crazy. I just can't figure out how the picture could be all that good over live AC.

What are your thoughts?

anyone use it?

Probably old news. I did a search and didn't find anything.

X10 has been doing that for years, not a good idea if you ask me, but then our power down here is not something you would want to send video or anything else over. May work well in countries with perfect power, if that exists?

They were here at our company about three weeks ago training presentation on that equipment, looked good then, but think it would be something more for home use, more than any type of consumer application. Hope this helps

It has been my experience that any time you change networks and then back again you pick up interference. Or a degradation in picture quality. Slingbox is doing this with there internet TV. It works OK but you can see a difference in picture quality.
