darrenSA 0 Posted November 13, 2007 Hi guys, We've been using a kodicom 4400 for about a year now, have been using a combination of webdvr and the S/W for various PC's on my network. I have recently tried to setup so i can view over the net, I have run through many posts which has got me to this point: If i use IE through an internet connection, i get into the webdvr login screen, login but it gives me the following errors - "webdvr - connection fails" follows by "network fails". The same login works fine over the LAN. I have forwarded the ports 8080-8090, my router is the following: at portforward. Telkom/Mega-100WR I know my connection is fine as i can remote desktop in to the remote PC, there is just something i'm missing that i cannot figure out? thanks

shreyansp 0 Posted October 7, 2008 I had the same problem. I think its caused by either the router's or the firewall you have installed on window's blocking something that is required for remote viewing. The easiest way around this is to use install Hamachi on both the client and server side and set the hamachi as a trusted network (5.0.0.0) in your windows firewall. This would bypass any router and windows firewall restrictions. Also the good thing about this solution is Hamachi gives you a fixed IP per profile. That means you don't need to use dyndns anymore. The advantage of this is you can use the DigiNet client software remotely. Because the DigiNet Client software only allows entering an IP during setup and not a DNS address. Therefore Dyndns will not help. Good luck
cctvexchange 0 Posted October 17, 2008 The WebDVR works over port 80. The ports 8080-8090 are for the Center software as you noted.
securityhombre 0 Posted March 7, 2009 The WebDVR works over port 80. The ports 8080-8090 are for the Center software as you noted. I'm guessing darren didn't port forward port 80 so he is seeing the timeout. hmmmmmmmmmm. Darren Please confirm if this is the situation so other people can benefit off your post [security Hombre]
