VST_Man 1 Posted November 14, 2007 I have a client that had multiple HD LCD Flats installed with 5 HD Direct TV receivers feeding them. I'm not a audio & TV guy but I do know enough to wonder at what i see.............the owner paid for HD connections to his LCD flats but all the connections are a single RF (F connector) connection to each LCD. In my eyes, it's not a true HD setup because you can't get past 480i via this connection. you need to go HDMI, component, or DVI to get higher. My questions are; - how is a "sports bar" usually wired to handled this many LCD's? - how does one handle the limititations on cable types to get higher HD? I know you can run 3 RG6's for component, along with RG6 for L&R audio, to get past 150ft. and that you can use special boxes to push HDMI distances. - Whats the best way of setting this up? Put the receivers closer to the LCD's? oh, and the installer really blew me away when he had the owner place taped cardboard over the IR on the receivers to keep the remote from working on all 5.................a quick remote RF change/setup and that problem would go away. and the ceiling mounts.....he actually took 1/2 threaded rod and bent it to create "U-bolts" and then bolted the LCD's up in this manner. Very tacky. LCD mounts were bent from over torking, poor alignment of the "u-bolt", ect. I'd like to unscrew this for the owner but I don't want to step into someone else do do. Owner is cool with me so do do is pretty much stinkless now. it is what it is, right? is there a good web site out there that engineers this type application with decent descriptions? CollinR 0 Posted November 14, 2007 What ports are available on the STBs and LCDs? If you have a VGA ports I would just do that.
