CCTV_Suppliers 0 Posted November 19, 2007 I thought this could be interesting to post.. referencing AMD's newest platform called "Spider" with new processor, AMD's quad-core Phenom chip, new 7-series chipsets, and new graphics chips for mid to high end applications... http://www.news.com/8301-13579_3-9819123-37.html?tag=nefd.top If anyone gets a chance to test this, please post your observations. I am trying to get a set for myself and if I do so, will share the info.
rory 0 Posted November 19, 2007 interesting, but really gets me, is AMD bought ATI for only 5.4 billion! Thought they would have been worth much more after all these years. http://www.news.com/AMD-folds-in-ATI-for-graphics-future/2100-1006_3-6129445.html Although, the ATI shareholders got alot of that as AMD stock. BTW, no room for a DVR card
CCTV_Suppliers 0 Posted November 19, 2007 According to what I found so far, this is suppose to be available in a price range falling between $900-1200... However, what is not clear yet is the fact that AMD is not stating which existing channels will they push through this new hardware solution. What I want to see eventually is their "complete" PC based on having your processor, your video, RAM controller, etc into a single silicon chip... something that they started talking about roughly a year ago... according to some articles, we apparently will see the first cut of such hardware by end of the next year... but I am not holding my breath...
