tbip2001 0 Posted November 28, 2007 Hi guys, Im new to the forum, and need alittle help (or alot lol). We have at our work (in the UK) a 16ch 100fps x-vision card running on a Dell PC We upgraded to this card having been very pleased with our old X-vision 8 ch system (the old basic red backdrop GUI). However this new system is no where near as reliable!! On playback, it routinely misses frames, and skips on sometimes up to 10 seconds!!! I have adjusted our settings, so that we are not asking the system to do too much (I lowered the quality, compression type and FPS) and whilst it is better, it is still unreliable. Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing this? we have spoken to Y3K, and they have replaced the card, but it is still the same!! Are we entitled to our money back? or will they just say its our PC thats the problem (for the record, we had a new dell pc built to the specs given on the y3k site) Really hope you can help guys as im not sure which way to turn! Many thanks Jim tbip2001

Peter 0 Posted December 24, 2007 Hi Jim Peter from Xvision here. Just seen your posts regarding the probems with the Xvision card. Please email me full details to contactus@x-vision.co.uk so I can help resolve any issues for you and find out what the cause is. Also, your question about Geovision, Xvision cards are not the same as Geovision. Along time ago they used to be, however we have not used OEM Geovision Software and Cards for over 3 years now. Peter 0 Posted December 24, 2007 Hi D&C Electronics Nice to meet you on this forum. Unfortunately the information you have is not accurate. Our Xvision PC DVR cards are not developed by Nuuo or Geovision, they are a joint collaboration between Xvision and an Independent Software Company. If you have a valid commercial reason for wanting to know who we work with or a project in mind please let me know and I will try my best to help you. If not then I am not sure of the point of your post, and it is not very professional to mention on a public forum what could be someones OEM/ODM supplier. Best regards Peter
BREN OF PORTLAND 0 Posted August 17, 2008 Hi Jim You were lucky with the 8 channel then. I am installing a 16 channel real time card bought from Y3K. I have had similar problem to you but have stabilised the system and it should now run for 6 days fingers crossed. You have to have a methodical approach to this problem and get writing to Y3K listing all the faults found with it too date. You must describe as accurately as you can what area of the system you are in. Y3K have replicated one of my faults. I am going to trying to record the software functioning on Digi Cam Quick Time video I am trying to build up a case to get info back to X-vision, The software house who generated the software suite and the card manufacturer belived to be secuinfo of Korea. I too like you have reduced tasks to minimum. One thing to check if you have the same software as I have is to deselect recording whilst in search mode. Accessed via setup on monitoring Screen. If you know the area where the frames jumps do back as AVI and play via windows media If the frames are missing you have a record problem if not its a play back problem. with the 200fps in low res you will only get 12.5 FPS on low res. less on high res. If cams in motion mode the times shown on the frames of each cam will not be sychncronised and this maybe is what you are seeing.
