testweight 0 Posted December 8, 2007 Can anyone tell me how reliable the Geovision system is. I had a bad experiance with a card from Ebay (expensive lesson learnt) which crashed every day on 2 different pc's. I have since gone over to a dedicated micros DVR but it is very limited on fps and features. I am wanting to go back to a Geovision card but wonder if the crashing I experianced before was due to the Pirate card or if they are like this anyway ? kensplace 0 Posted December 9, 2007 Not had any problems with the geovision card I have, as long as you make sure your pc is up to the specs recommended by geovision, and you buy a real, legitimate, recent version geovision card, I cant see you having the types of problems you experienced with a pirated card. Mine is on 24/7 works a treat

rory 0 Posted December 9, 2007 Stability, well that depends on the hardware and drivers for one, which once it is a legit Geo Card and you use the suggested components and legit Geo Drivers and software, there will be no issues. The software itself is pretty much Bug Free, the newer version requires alot more memory than the older versions, but its still solid and once again once the components are up to spec, it will run great. I've set them up on various machines and works great, a couple of them running for 3 years now. Also check out this thread http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=8059 Also, if it I could not create a stable system from their cards and software, I would not be writing Remote Video Software and other apps specifically for GeoVision systems. 501 0 Posted December 10, 2007 We have hundreds in the field, it's a very reliable and good quality product, just a but pricey compared to the alternatives.
mcs 0 Posted December 10, 2007 Not really considering, all the time wasted on comart and crap like that There is no real alternative to GEOVISION, thats a fact There is cheap and nasty and there is ok, but then there is geovision - Sorry But I wont be changing anytime soon

mcs 0 Posted December 13, 2007 Just stick to a Reputable reseller, do not buy from ebay - they arent allowed to resell thru ebay Over spec ur pc a bit, dont skimp here, h is cheap I bought 2 gb ddr2 corsair twinx for 78 bucks other day for a machine Part your hdd, or use a sep hdd for OS, Play around a bit on the work bench first, its not that hard. cheers
