RealSec 0 Posted December 10, 2007 First question on this forum so here goes I installed some Sanyo (wide dynamic 8575) day/night cameras last year on a single house building site. The cameras were pole mounted and light was provided by a 1kw halogen mounted at the top of each pole. All worked well until the house was built. Now that the house is built the layout of the site has changed dramatically and so have the lighting conditions. The camera that is now pointing directly at the new house is suffering from glare. There are various lanterns etc on the house and when these are turned on the picture although ok suffers from glare. I haven’t installed any of these since so I am not too familiar with them any more I would like to be prepared as this site is 3 hours drive each way and I would like to sort it in one visit. Also would it be possible to retro fit some ir lamps to these cameras Thanks
CameraGimp 0 Posted December 11, 2007 Hi there, Can you clarify some thing for me Is the glare you are referring to the lights on the house over exposing at night, and if so is the camera applying gain (AGC), ie grainy picture when this is happening? CCTV_Suppliers 0 Posted December 11, 2007 Which lens are you using and hope it is IR lens??... Also, how did you setup the camera? There are quite of few adjustments on this unit... Here is the url for the manual http://www.sanyosecurity.com/pdf/cctv/inst/ccd(ntsc)/vccwd8574.pdf... and there are setting that could help tremendously as long as your follow their instructions... Since you will be looking at this camera and the video that it produces, another approach will be to call Sanyo Technical support from the site and ask questions and see what they say... Their number is (888) 667-2696 It will be very difficult for anyone in this forum to give you precise step how to solve it, since it is still not clear how your had this camera setup... zmxtech 0 Posted December 12, 2007 I have the same problem [sanyo 4594] great pictures till a car goes past and Bam! there is too much IR it flares badly. [these cams have IR cut filter motor] and IR 3-8mm lens Might have to adjust the gain etc with a car nearby as a benchmark The other problem is when the security lights turn on the whole picture flares for a few seconds losing the "perp" then about 5 seconds later the camera switches to color and no filter -this is also wayyyy to slow and misses the perp again. It will take some time to get it just right.
