Sonnykok 0 Posted December 20, 2007 Hello, I am having trouble make the Gv-Data POS works with my G-site. I connected the VSI-Pro with the customer display and it worked fine. However, GV-DAta Capture V1.04 has not worked at all for me. I'm thinking about to buy another POS Capture card to work with my other cash register but I would like to know if it workable. Thru the Geovision site, the V2 supports the G-site but the V3 didn't list G-site as one of the supported POS. Questions I would like to ask: 1. Would the V1.04 works with the G-site? 2. Can I use the RJ45 splitter to connect the GV-DATA thru the customer display? (G-site send out ASCI code to the display thru RJ45 connector, it only uses 2 wires) 3. Which version of GV-DATA would you recommended?(V3 or V3E- why????) My back office is approximately 60 feet away those cash registers 4. If anyone here has the G-site, other than customer display, which port would you use. The printer port is also a RJ45 port ( connect to a EPson printer) I set up the printer only issue receipt on demand. My Geo DVR is 1480 version 8.12. Thank you for help. sonny
ezCCTV 0 Posted December 20, 2007 Some information you need to find out 1. What is the pinout of the RJ45 connection that goes to the printer? This will be a serial connection, but using an RJ45 plug rather than a 9 Pin D Type 2. You will need to create a cable that takes the transmit and receive signal to a 9 Pin D Type connector and plug into the GV Data Capture. Pin 2 RX Pin 3 TX The only difference between a GV Data Capture V3 and V3E is that the V3E can send data back to the GeoVision machine via an IP network, whereas the V3 can only send via RS232 or RS 485, connecting to a GV NET, GV HUB or GV COM at the GeoVision end.
