john 0 Posted January 22, 2004 Hi I am looking to buy a dedicated DVR system for under £500 that is available in the UK. I need the system to run upto 4 cameras and be reliable. I would also need to be to view output my PC. I have been look at a system from http://www.clearview-cctv.co.uk/clearview/index4.html - I believe they are made by hunt. I assume that this dedicated is the best way to go for stability. I do have a powerful AMD based machine available but not had any luck the getting the system to stay up with the cheap cards bought from ebay.
AVCONSULTING 0 Posted January 22, 2004 I'm not sure how much you have available in dollars but Dedicated Micros, an English based DVR company, has a new Eco line of DVRs that is very inexpensive. You might want to check out a local distributor and ask them about it. http://www.vsscctv.com/SpecSheets/ECO4_SpecSheet.pdf
cctv_down_under 0 Posted January 22, 2004 Dedicated Micros are one of the better standalone products. The reason your AMD wont work is because it probably uses a VIA or NFORCE chipset and they will not work with those cards. I hope this helped,
